Music festivals are are commonly held outdoors, and are often inclusive of other attractions such as food and merchandise vendors, performance, and social activities.Many festivals are annual and are usually held over a period of two to five days. However some festivals will be a one off single day event, whereas some festivals last for more than a week.

Music festivals usually offer some kind of camping facility for people who wish to attend everyday of the festival. Most festivals however will also make available single day tickets. Below is a list of the top UK festivals:

Reading and Leeds Festivals -  The Reading and Leeds Festivals are a pair of annual music events that take place in Reading and Leeds in the United Kingdom. The events take place simultaneously on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the August bank weekend, sharing the same bill, but obviuosly with performers playing on different days at each one. The capacity of Reading Festival is 80,000, whilst the capacity of Leeds Festival is 70,000. Both offer camping facilitys.

Glastonbury  -  Glastonbury is one of the worlds largest music festivals and features dance. Aswell as music the festival offers comedy, theatre, circus, cabarat and many other arts. Around 170,000 people attend Glastonbury Festival each year. The first ever Glastonbury festival was held in 1970, 1,500 people attended.

Download -  Download Festival, held in Donington Park, has been an annual music festival since 2003. Previously Ozzfest was held at Donington in the year 2002, and prior to that the world famous Monsters of Rock Festival was held their between the years 1980-1996. Unlike many other festivals Download mainly host Rock and Metal acts, occasionaly making exceptions. Recent year have seen acts such as The Prodigy and Pendulum play. The festvial usually takes place around mid-June, with this years festvial taking place between June 12th-14th. Festival goers who purchase a camping ticket aswell as the 3 day festival pass will be able to gain access to the camp site 2 days prior to the festival starting.

The V Festival - The V Festival is an annual musioc festival that is located in Western Park, South Staffordshire. The festival books a wide range covering many different types of music genre, including rock, pop, dance and indie. The festival has been going since 1996 and is sponsored by Virgn Mobile and Virgin Radio, hence 'V' Festival.
